Mein verehrter Gönner,

Ich habe leider Beechey’s Reise nicht,
Sie machten mich aber vor geraumer
Zeit darauf aufmerksam und schrieben
mir: „Ich gebe so eben Arnotts
Bearbeitung der Reise von Cap. Beechey
der Bibliothek zurück.“ Dieses Briefchen
ist bis jetzt zur Erinnerung auf
meinem Tisch liegen geblieben,
weil ich mir das Werk kommen
